1929 – DELAWARE AND HUDSON – INSPECTION OF LINES – BOARD OF MANAGERS

Full title of this hardcover (about 8 1/4 by 10 3/4 inch) 101 page book is: THE DELAWARE AND HUDSON COMPANY – BOARD OF MANAGERS – INSPECTION OF LINES – JUNE 7, 8, AND 9, 1929. From the introduction:
“The Delaware and Hudson Company’s railroad is engaged exclusively in the manufacture and sale of transportation, for persons and property. … In what follows an attempt is made to describe, in a concise manner, graphically and by narrative, the various facilities and activities that enter into the production of such transportation…”

From about 1923-37, the D&H railroad produced a hardbound “Annual Inspection of Lines” detailing a different portion of the railroad for the board members and principal stock holders. These books, when found, provide a great look at what the Delaware and Hudson was during those years.

Printed on glossy paper there is some glare in the images I took. Because of the detailed and informative material covered I have also included an image of the TABLE OF CONTENTS so you can see the detail provided. Currently I can only find one other of these books produced for the Board of Managers for sale. A 1922 48 page history of signaling for $450.
