Offered are these two uniformly bound volumes with raised bands and six tooled compartments with some light edgewear, and fading to spines as is typical of the dyes used on this leather. The two volumes are:
ALTON LOCKE, TAILOR AND POET. AN AUTOBIOGRAPHY – New Edition with a prefatory memoir by Thomas Hughes – Macmillan and Co., London, 437 pages with some light foxing
TWO YEARS AGO – Eighth Edition – Macmillan And Co., 495 pages with some light foxing

RIVIERE BINDING – FULL LEATHER – THE VICAR OF WAKEFIELD by OLIVER GOLDSMITH: THE CHOICE BOOKS
Published by George G. Harrap and Co., London, no date given for this reprint, but most likely early 20th century. Full leather binding with raised bands, gilt stampings, all edges gilt (AEG), and marbled endpapers, 287 pages. Stamped is “Bound by Riviere & Son” which means bound after 1880. This little volume measures about 3 5/8 by 5 1/4 inches. As is typical with the green dyes used on leather, due do sun and atmosphere the spine has changed color to brown. BUT, sitting on the shelf looking at the handsome spine you would not know the boards are green.

Published by James Parker and Co. Oxford and London, Second Edition with corrections and additions. Nice clean and tight set, marbled boards, endpapers and book block edges. Five raised bands, thus six compartments on spine. Volume I, pages 1-278; Volume II, pages 279-620, ads.

Published by Chapman and Hall, London, 1857, 415 pages. Nice clean and tight copy, 3/4 leather with marbled boards and endpapers, all edges gilt (AEG). Some light rubbing on the marbled boards. Bound by R. Nelson, Glascow.
