For over six decades I have enjoyed collecting postcards. I have somewhere between 20,000 and 30,000 cards. Some I will never part with, but others are “excess to my needs,” and as time permits I will begin making them available to the world. Five postcards of this small Cheshire County village on the border with Massachusetts. Included (all divided back) are: Elm Street; The Common; The “Square;” High School; and Universalist Memorial Church. I sure hope these can go back to a Winchester history collection. 47 DIFFERENT – GUERRE 1914-1916 – STEREO VIEW POSTCARDS – VISA PARIS – UNIQUE – RARE
Based upon my research, offered at a reasonable “bargain” price of $275 for this unique collection (Order Number 2222)
An interesting group of French World War I postcards, published by Visa Paris, depicting war preparations, military action, and bombing destruction. I can find little information on the publisher, or this series of cards. This is the first time I have ever seen postcards that doubled as stereo views. Detailed are part of the descriptions on the cards, and brief translations of some descriptions. The cards in this collection have never been mailed. They are numbered, some cards are titled Guerrre 1914 and others Guerre 1914-1916 — and I have in this lot:

TWO — COW GIRL and MILDRED DOUGLASS RIDING A WILD STEER — POSTCARDS
Offered as a pair are two fun Rodeo postcards. First a Real Photo Post Card (RPPC) of Mildred Douglas Chrisman – on postcard as Douglass (1895 – 1982) who is a 1988 National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame inductee. Working as a Bronc rider, trick rider and shooter, and nurse she was even in silent films with Tom Mix. Never mailed, the rear of the card has some tale about her it seems, but I cannot make out all the writing. On photo states MILDRED DOUGLASS RIDING WILDSTEEER, R.F.P.CO, INC.
The second card, mailed in 1910 from Sidney,Nebraska, is titled “COW GIRL, WESTERN NEBRASKA” with cowgirl sitting atop a horse. — for the pair – $22.50 (order number 2287)

I just separated this mini-collection from one of the many postcard collections I have purchased along with book collections over the past three decades. A fun collection as assembled over 25 years ago that I thought someone may enjoy. Too much to detail each one, but my images will give you a feel for what is here.
