VINTAGE MID-CENTURY “CANNED HAM” GLAMPING ACCESSORIES

As COVID hit, limiting travel experiences and destinations, I pursued a long-time “must have” need and purchased first a 1965 AIRSTREAM CARAVEL and then a 1959 FAN Camper. It was great fun – in the back yard – and one trip with the FAN. But, with continuing back and strength issues, I found them both “new homes.”

But along the way, I of course had to collect the appropriate accessories to set up with them as I had seen at several vintage trailer rallies I had visited. With the trailers gone, I have the following items for the next “conservator” to enjoy with his or her vintage trailer set-up.

WICKER PICNIC BASKET

Really should keep this, but without the appropriate display space, someone else should enjoy. Appearing to have been used little, if at all, this Wicker Picnic Basket measures 22″ by 14″ by 8″ – with all contents as shown – $80

PICNIC SET IN “SCOTCH” CARRYING CASE

I could not resist this one with the “classic” mid-century Scotch pattern seen so often with Thermoses and coolers. Pictures “say it all” – may never have been used – just classic in my opinion – $35

THERMOS – MID-CENTURY SCOTCH PATTERN

Again, simply “classic of the time period, and perfect display under your awning while “clamping.” – $20 — (my side by side images may be clicked for a larger size image)

RED COLEMAN COOLER

Another “classic” vintage “glamping” item – the iconic Red Coolman Cooler. Size – 22 1/2 by 13 1/2 by 12 1/2 inches high. This one shows some use and needs some refreshing to the brightwork metal pieces, and some polishing and paint touch up — but as you know these draw a wide range of prices – $25 – what I paid for this one.

VINTAGE c1950s BREXTON PICNIC SET Made in England

I purchased this British set in 2015 as an accessory for my 1958 TR3A Triumph. The black case measures 15 1/2 by 12 by 6 inches, and shows some wear. The enamelware plates and cups are still wrapped as it was shipped to me. Complete with can opener which also has a place in the lid (I forgot to put it there for the image) – the tin box for your food until picnic blanked time – and the key. I first started looking for one of these British sets in 2011 finding a larger size for $675, and this smaller one for a tad less. Case and metalwork should clean up, I just have never gotten to it. — $75

and, (still need to add an image) I have a “yellow Scotch-style” round cooler. Sadly due to some loss of paint – $10
